TIMES JAKARTA, MALANG – Sumber Maron has become a popular water tourism destination in Malang Regency, offering fresh natural scenery, fun outdoor activities, and affordable entrance fees for visitors of all ages. The location is in Karangsuko Village, Pagelaran District, with access that is fairly easy from Malang City.

This tourist spot is known for its clear water and green surroundings, making it a refreshing place to relax with family. The natural pool area has different depths, allowing both adults and children to enjoy swimming safely.

One of the most attractive activities here is river tubing, where visitors ride on float tubes along a nearly 500-meter river route. The water flow is considered safe, making it an exciting activity especially for students and young travelers.

Sumber Maron also features a Micro-Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) within the tourism area. The facility supports educational visits, helping students and visitors learn about renewable energy and how water flow can generate electricity.

The destination is known for its low entrance fees, starting from around Rp5,000 on weekdays and up to Rp10,000 during weekends or holidays. Available facilities include parking areas, toilets, prayer rooms, changing areas, food stalls, and float rentals for river tubing.

Sumber Maron usually operates from around 07:00–08:00 AM until 04:00–06:00 PM daily, depending on management policies and visitor conditions.

Beyond its recreational appeal, Sumber Maron is also famous for its gentle artificial waterfall, often used as a spot for photo sessions and water therapy, as the flowing water is believed to help relieve muscle tension.

The area is surrounded by productive rice fields irrigated by the same spring, giving visitors a glimpse of traditional village life in Malang. Local residents actively help manage the tourism site through community-based tourism, ensuring cleanliness and environmental sustainability.

The water source itself originates from a natural spring that remains clear throughout the year, even during the rainy season, thanks to its well-preserved ecosystem.
